Media Preservation Frontend is an open-source Windows utility published by SabreTools that wraps the command-line optical-disc dumping engines Redumper, Aaru and DiscImageCreator in a straightforward C# graphical interface, eliminating the need to memorize complex console syntax. Designed for archivists, collectors and preservationists, the program guides users through setting drive offsets, selecting output formats (ISO, BIN/CUE, DIC, AaruFormat, CUE, TOC), hashing checksums and logging media metadata, then executes the chosen engine while streaming real-time progress and error feedback to a unified window. Typical use cases include creating forensic images of fragile CD-ROM, DVD, Blu-ray, HD-DVD, GD-ROM, PlayStation, Xbox and Sega Saturn discs before bit-rot sets in, batch-processing personal collections for long-term cold storage, verifying pressed media against online databases such as Redump, No-Intro and the Software Preservation Society, and generating submission-ready dumps for community cataloguing projects. Version 3.7.1, the eleventh public release, adds support for the newest Redumper hardware revisions, improves Aaru device plugin detection, refines offset auto-configuration for Plextor and LG drives, and fixes several UTF-8 filename encoding issues that previously caused failed splits on non-Latin disc labels. Because each underlying engine is updated independently, the frontend automatically detects installed toolchains and offers per-profile version locking so legacy drives can remain on proven firmware while newer hardware benefits from the latest low-level fixes. The project is actively maintained on GitHub under the MIT license, accepts pull requests for additional language translations and offers portable as well as installer builds for 64-bit Windows 7 and later. Media Preservation Frontend is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads provided via trusted Windows package sources (e.g. winget), always delivering the latest version, and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
